My thoughts on the sensitive working relationship of the wedding photographer and videographer....and 8 tips on how to make it work.

I've heard my share of nightmares from both photographers and videographers and how we can ruin each other's work during a wedding and/or event. Photographers have told me about videographers that will get on ladders to film during a ceremony and fall off right in the middle of the vows. I've been told about photographers that love to get right in front of the videographer during an important shot... and vice versa.

I personally have enjoyed working with 99.9% of the photographers at my events/weddings. But there was, however, that one time when I considered putting a hit on the photographer at a wedding. I'm exaggerating, I don't know any hitmen.

Anyway, we had a location shoot in New York's Oheka Castle last year. This gorgeous castle has been utilized in television, films, and celebrity weddings (it's the future setting of Derek Jeter's wedding this year).

Needless to say, a photographer and videographer could spend hours and hours shooting and filming there. We were very excited and were ready to get to work as soon as we got there. Well, for those of you who have worked with us before, you know that we usually yield the right of way to the photographer as we believe that a photographer in a video is nowhere near as bad as a videographer in a photo. There may be some videographers who may disagree with me on this, but it's how we work. Well, we tried our best to introduce ourselves to the photographers (two guys with about 20 cameras draped around their bodies in their late 30's with indistinguishable accents). From the beginning, they gave us the 'once over-head-to-toe' look and a nice roll of the eyes to top it off. Now listen guys, I'm usually a fun and easygoing person, but nothing sets me off more than the above mentioned self-righteous look. So of course, I looked up their website on my iPhone to see if they had the right to behave like a couple of divas. Umm.. the short answer is no. In spite of this, I decide to control my temper because I would never give the bride the impression that her vendors are not getting along. She has enough going on that day to be worrying about her photographer and videographer not getting along. So we did our best to let them get their shots while still getting ours. However, one of the guys seemed to always find a place right in front of my camera, even when I was standing at the other end of the room. And I'm not talking 10 feet in front of my camera, I'm talking 10 to 12 INCHES! This happened several times during the ceremony. Now, you professional photographers out there know that we videographers tend to set at least one camera on a tripod and leave it in that spot during the entire ceremony. I usually plan the setup with the photographers so as not be in each others way. I would have done the same with these guys, but they had moved on to pretending we didn't exist. At one time during the ceremony, the same guy actually placed the lens of his camera on my shoulder! Even though this happened months ago, thinking about it again still makes my blood boil. I mean, this guy actually decided that my shoulder would be his tripod during the ceremony! He starts clicking away on my shoulder while I'm trying to film. Not behind me, not next to me, but right ON MY SHOULDER. Agghhhh!!! 10, 9 , 8, 7... I was counting back from 10 as I've been told this helps one to relax. If he didn't have his lens off my shoulder by the time I counted down to one, I was going to slam my face right into his (he was shorter than me so I believe I could've taken him down). Many of my videographer friends tell me they would have lost it at this point.

Anyway, this kind of behavior went on all day. But I'm proud to say that the bride/groom and family/guests never seemed to have a clue as to the silent war that was waged on us videographers that day. We just focused on our bride and groom and went on about our work. In post production, we had to down several drinks as we saw these guys in our shots over and over and over again (you editors know what I mean). It was a miracle we were still able to produce a great-looking film for our clients.

Now, back to the reason I wanted to write this article... How can we, the videographers contribute to a great working relationship with photographers during an event and/or wedding? The following tips have worked for us.

8 Tips For Videographers On How to Get Along With the Photographer during an event/wedding:

1. Introduce yourself as soon as you get there.

2. Get a feel for how the photographer works and moves around.

3. When setting up a shot, let the photographer know when, where, and how long you'll be there. (This may not seem necessary to you, but it has helped us get along and develop great, long-lasting relationships with our photographers. It IS possible to show consideration while still getting those great money shots.)

4. Sometimes the photographer gets stuck and looses inspiration. This is the right time for you to suggest ideas for YOUR shots. I am in no way suggesting that you tell them how to do their job. However, most photographers have loved our ideas and gone ahead and taken a few shots after we finish. In addition, I have personally enjoyed being inspired by photographers' creativity when I get stuck. However, that won't happen if you are constantly trying to lead during the event/shoot. You should never consider yourself too good to learn something new or be so stuck in a rut that you're not inspired by someone else's innovative ideas.

5. If the photographer is getting a shot that you want to get, but you don't like the staged look (I personally don't like forcing a pose for video), go ahead and film behind the photographer at a comfortable distance. I've gotten some of my coolest over-the-shoulder shots this way. 6. If you are working with a relatively new photographer who seems nervous and insecure, don't just step over him/her because you have more experience. Learn the art of guiding without stepping all over the photographers pride and dignity. This is something I learned from Dale Carnegie's book "How to Win Friends & Influence People". The book is old and the title is cheesy, but it is still one of the best books written on the subject of dealing with people and colleagues. Remember when you were new and didn't want anyone to expose your inexperience? Remember how it felt when people with more experience treated you like a nobody? Don't do the same to others. The coolest people are those who are at the top of their game and still treat others with respect and dignity. Don't fool yourself, even the most talented artists in Hollywood loose gigs simply because they're jerks. It's no different in our industry. Eventually, your reputation will precede you.

7. The most difficult time is the ceremony. Most of what happens there can not be repeated. Discuss your camera placement with the photographer BEFORE the ceremony begins. Plan how each of you will get your shots without getting in each other's way. Most photographers have been very grateful to us for always including them in our planning during ceremonies. This has made it possible for everyone to get the shots they need and make the client happy.

8. This brings us to the last and most important tip. Never forget that it is always ALL ABOUT THE CLIENT. We must always remember that we are there to get our shots without bringing attention to ourselves. From not getting in the way to delivering an astonishing film, our clients' happiness is our number one priority. Never let your pride or sense of entitlement get in the way of that fact.

That's good stuff Ana..
Obviously a problem that everybody knows about. I've found there's jerks on both sides, obviously coming from their own perspective. Communication is key (like you outlined), but sometimes you're going to get those who don't really care.

I think what is also important is to understand each other's perspectives. You have to be willing to put yourself in each other's shoes. Pretty tough to do in this selfish culture that we all live in.
Way to go on attempting to discuss this - I'm curious to hear the responses.

Good write on this situation. The way I see it is that there are professionals who get it and love their work and respect others and then there are jerks! Pros who are decent people will work with you forever without any problems even if they are having bad day. Stupid people will ruin you day and anybody who may be nearby. You can use all the rules, guidelines, and laws in the books but you can't regulate nor fix stupid. I make it a point of enjoying my work by getting along with all of those I come in contact with. But at times I have and will continue to run into some jerks who will test you to no end. I have felt like kicking the equipment of some of this jerks more than once. Even after thinking about the situation years later, I can honestly say that there was nothing I could have done because, as I mentioned earlier, you can't fix stupid. I remember this one dude put his hand on the lens of my camera and told me that he was not going to allow me to shoot any more pictures! Later I learned that he was a karate dude so it was a good thing I didn't kick his *butt* as I had planned. LOL!

This is kind of a personal rant. Actually, that's exactly what it is. I just watched "The Invention of Lying". I think its a well made movie with good actors but with an insulting and depressing message. I did not see the humor in implying that those who belive in "The man in the sky", as Ricky puts it, are ignorant fools. I personally think that Ricky Gervais is very funny and at the very least this movie was a novel idea. But after watching the movie one feels kinda ripped off. Not really the reaction you want when you make a movie. That's my $.02. Can I have my $2.99 rental fee back?

While filming the Clark-Simonelli wedding last week, I remembered what a privilege it is to be included on such a special day. We always appreciate that it is no small gesture to be selected to film someone’s wedding. This is one of those big decisions that

will affect the enjoyment of your wedding… during and after. I am grateful that in my many years of shooting weddings, I have yet to dislike the couple or the families. The last several weddings we’ve filmed have had such beautiful families! From the filming the bride at the parent’s house to the last one left at the reception, we’ve seen the love that can be shared between families and friends. Not to mention the bride and groom!

I’m in the last stages of editing Kim and Josh Touchton’s wedding, which was filmed a few months ago. We had such a great time filming their wedding! The location was the beautiful Lake Mary Events Center in Lake Mary, FL. I remember that the day was a perfectly sunny day with a beautiful sunset on the lake at the end of the evening.

I was touched by the history these two lovely people have. This couple met in high school. However, they went their separate ways after high school. Josh became a pilot in the Army (Kim correct me if I’m wrong :->) and Kim went on to college and traveled the globe. After almost 10 years, these two found each other again, realized they were meant to be together, and got married! In addition, when Kim told me the story of their families, I was happily surprised that both their parents were still together as were their grandparents. As all of you know, this is no small feat in this day and age.

We want to thank Kim and Josh for letting us be a small part of their special day. Look for the highlights soon! In the meantime, enjoy some of the photos taken from our video frames.

Last weekend we were in Long Island, New York filming an incredible wedding at historic Oheka Castle (name comes from the original owner's name Otto Hermann Kahn). Ruby and Rimsky were the center of attention at this beautiful location. We were immediately captivated by both sides of the family as they were very loving and affectionate. It was obvious from the beginning that this would be a great day! And of course, it was. Especially once we arrived at the historic Oheka Castle. We were in awe of how gorgeous this place was, and very grateful that we had 3 hours to follow the bride and groom around before the reception began. We are very proud of the footage we captured and can’t wait to post the highlights!

A little history on Oheka from Wikipedia…

By 1919, Otto Hermann Kahn had assembled a 443 acre estate on Long Island, and had Oheka Castle built as its centerpiece. At 109,000 square, the 127 room was designed as the second largest private residence in the United States (after George Vanderbilt's 175,000-square-foot Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina) by Delano & Aldrich of New York City; its landscaping was designed by Olmstead Brothers, sons of Frederick Law Olmsted of Brookline, Massachusetts. The property featured a golf course, a working farm, a private airstrip and numerous outbuildings.

Following Kahn's death in 1934, the property was sold to the City of New York City for use as a retreat for sanitation workers and then a government training school for merchant marine radio operators. In the late 1940s, an upscale housing development was constructed and in 1948, the Eastern Military Academy (EMA) purchased the mansion and 23 acres around it.

One of the former EMA cadets has written his memories going to school there. By the time the school went bankrupt 30 years later, the gardens had been bulldozed, rooms subdivided and paneled walls painted over. Following the departure of EMA, vandals repeatedly set fire to the building, however, because Kahn had insisted on fireproofing the building through a concrete, brick and steel structure, the building survived. In 1984 a local developer (Gary Melius) purchased the estate for $1.5 million and began the largest private renovation project in the United States.

Oheka Castle has been features on WE channel's "Platinum Weddings" and many Hollywood films.

This week we worked alongside David Dubbs of Probodybuilding.com at Tim Gardner's Body Tech Gym in Tampa, FL. This place is awesome! I've always been into fitness, however, I haven't been hard into lifting for a long time, but I got energized just by being here! Everyone is so positive and focused that you can't help but catch the bug. You have to respect anyone who can stay that focused no matter what's happening in their life. They were preparing for the 2009 IFBB Europa Show this weekend in Orlando, FL by staging a mock competition (photos below).

One i Productions was recently invited to enter a contest to create a music video for Brooks & Dunn’s song “Tequila” from their latest album, Cowboy Town.
The contest was brought to the Nashville based internet video company, StudioNow by artist management company, Spalding Entertainment. Contestants were by invitation only and we were one of the few who had the privilege to participate! The above video is the result of having only 1 week to plan, shoot, edit, and deliver since we had to be in New York for another job the next week!

But it was a success!! Jamie Cline, our lead actor, did a wonderful job. Being that this is a music video, there are no speaking roles. However, Jamie is always able to perform well, even without speaking, and gave me exactly what I asked of him. I always love working with him!

We had several other actors that did a great job. As a Director, my work goes smoothly when I work with people who follow direction well. I'm so thankful that the people I worked with on this gig where very professional and talented. Then there are the locals who frequent the bar.... I could make a movie based on these characters! They all have such interesting stories to tell, and great funny personalities to boot!

All I know is that we had purchased a large Tequila bottle for the shoot. However, after the shoot, when we went to take the bottle home, we found it empty! We also had a large jug of apple juice for the 'tequila' shots since we would be shooting for about an hour. However, the sneaky bar customers who participated in the shoot, told the bartender to pour the real thing at every take! LOL! I guess since they weren't getting paid, they wanted to get something out of it! I was wondering why they were so happy at the end of the shoot! Anyway, they all did a great job!

*None of the actual actors drank until AFTER the shoot... or so I was told. :->

Crash!!

Well, it finally happened. What I dreaded most. One of my external hard drives crashed. And, of course, it would be the one with the videos that were due that week!

Well, it's in the 'shop' now getting worked on. Hopefully we'll be able to retrieve the data. At least I was smart enought (this time) to copy the video files on to a DVD and was able to meet my deadlines. But, now I know... always back up your data! Hard drives are not reliable as back up sources. Well, we are off to shoot a wedding in Miami. I think we might need an apartment in Miami as we are constantly shooting videos there!

We were hired by Oaktree Asset Management (California) to film their client, Summerbay Resort, for a video they will be using in their tradeshows and marketing. This is a beautiful resort located on the west side of Orlando. The staff there was very friendly. We especially had a great time interviewing Chris Sagherian who is the VP of Finance at Summerbay Resort. Thank you Chris for making this shoot go very smoothly!

This will be the first of what we hope to be many how to videos we produce for Demand Media!

(It seems 'how-to' is the theme of the month for us as we just shot a how to video for MPS in Orlando this past week!)

We were recently contacted by DynaTek Media to provide video content for them. DynaTek monitors and manages networks ranging from one to thousands of digital signs. DynaTek has built its network on a predominantly wireless cellular system which needs no integration with existing terrestrial line infrastructures. Their working relationships with some of the largest hardware, software and cellular services allow DynaTek the opportunity to respond to any deployment. This coupled with their complete production capabilities make building, managing and monitoring any system within our reach. With the intelligence they have received through these working relationships, and their own market research and development, they can pass on their core competencies to their customers and advertisers.

What this does is allow One i Productions to submit footage shot for their clients to DynaTek Media for exposure to hundreds of thousands of viewers. In addition to being hired to document backstage preperations during the week at Superbowl XLIII, we were hired by a separate company to film the daytime events along with evening celebrity parties. We feel privileged to have been selected by Mixcast to be their exclusive videographers for their star-studded events!

Each year, a group of NFL wives stage a fashion show in the Super Bowl city. And this year, another group, the Professional Sports Wives Association, is getting into the party game with a celebrity gala Jan. 30 in Ybor City.

"I know people think we do nothing, which drives me crazy!" said Gena James Pitts, founder of the PSWA and wife of 12-year NFL vet Mike Pitts. "Shop, eat lunch, do nothing — it drives me crazy, because if people knew what wives do behind the scenes, they'd be surprised."
The event, dubbed "Diamonds and Pearls," is the first of a three-night series of parties in the Good Luck Cafe building in Ybor City. It will be hosted by entrepreneur Dylan Lauren, the daughter of Ralph Lauren and founder of Dylan's Candy Bar, a whimsical sweets shop with two locations in Orlando. There will be soul food, a performance by R&B singer Jon B., and pricey jewelry on display.

"Diamonds and Pearls" is the first event of SuperLX, a series of parties running Jan. 30 to Feb. 1 in Ybor. Details and celebrity hosts for the Saturday and Sunday night parties are still being finalized, but DJs from 95.7 The Beat will be on hand throughout the weekend. It's looking like the second night of SuperLX will be even bigger. Organizers are partnering with Vibe magazine and T-Pain for a party called "T-Pain's Thr33 Ring Circus."

"We think it's a great marriage between T-Pain and Vibe. He puts on an amazing show," said Olivia Scott-Perkins, the magazine's associate publisher for marketing. "We're really happy that we're able to bring this type of party to the Super Bowl. No other urban brand is there, so we're pleased to be the first that we know of to have a party on this stage."

It makes sense that T-Pain would be hosting his own Super Bowl party, considering the Tallahassee hitmaker is one of Florida's biggest music superstars. But as he recently told tbt*: "I don't even want people to think about me being from Florida. ... When people know that that's where you're from, that's all they expect of you."

All we expect of T-Pain is that he bring the party. And we have no doubt that he will.

SuperLX will wrap up Sunday with a disco-themed "Studio 43" party starring hip-hop entrepreneur and scenester Kenny Burns, the event's weekend-long host. It'll begin right after the game.

Both parties (as well as Diamonds and Pearls) will take place in Ybor City's old Good Luck Cafe building (1910 E Seventh Ave.), which is reinventing itself as the GLC Entertainment Complex.

As Web-video presentations increase in popularity as a means of delivering marketing messages over the Internet, there will be the inevitable major successes and unfortunate failures. It is only a matter of time before Web-video becomes the dominating vehicle for businesses that are serious about marketing communication.

The businesses that will be successful will learn how to use the medium beyond its technical implementation, focusing instead on the psychological elements that communicate beyond mere surface meaning.

Multimedia Modeling and Vicarious Observation

Albert Bandura, distinguished psychologist and expert in the field of social learning theory, points to television commercials as an important influence on social learning through multimedia modeling and vicarious observation.

We often forget that like all creatures human beings are subject to our hardwired instinct for survival, one of the most important being our ability to learn through vicarious experiences rather than just direct encounters. We may learn not to touch a hot stove by putting our hand on a hot heating element, but it is far less dangerous to learn the same lesson by watching someone else do it, even if that observation is fabricated as in a commercial.

Marketing Campaigns Are Learning Experiences

All marketing campaigns are learning experiences for the target audience in that advertisers are attempting to manipulate viewers' behavior by vicarious demonstration of brand benefits resulting from product or service use.

Cost has limited the use of broadcast television commercials to all but the most deep-pocketed of advertisers, but the broadband Web and digital technology has changed all that. The means to produce reasonable-cost Web-video is at hand, witness the explosion of numerous video sites like YouTube and Google Video, plus the advent of Web-commercial venues like Google Video Ads. Unfortunately many businesses cannot see past the proliferation of uneven quality viral videos that lack any serious commercial purpose to see the real opportunity that exists.

It is inevitable that a period of DIY (do it yourselfers) will ensue, as businesses that don't understand the medium will try to implement video campaigns without taking the time to learn that mastering the technical use of software and hardware is not what makes vicarious-experience video-observation work.

The Four Communication Elements of Web-Commercials

If businesses are to be successful in getting people to do what they want them to do through the implementation of Web-commercials, they will need to learn that success ultimately depends on an understanding of the psychological influences behind the four communication elements that constitute effective Web-presentations: scenario, sight, sound, and score.

Scenario: The Brand Story

Every business has a brand story to tell, but often that story gets lost in the minutiae of product specifications, service details, and self-congratulating biz-speak. There is no point in spending time telling your audience that you have the highest quality, lowest price and best staff. Nobody cares, and if they do care, few will believe you, and if they do believe you, your competitor is saying the same thing. Have you presented anything that defines you, makes you different, or provides something memorable?

People remember stories, linear narratives that are constructed with a beginning, middle and end. This enables an audience to process the information and retain the essence of the message for future reference. In developing your brand story, less is always more. It's your brand story that creates the position you will hold in your audience's mind.

Sight: Visual Context and Reference

A moving picture conveys a depth of information that cannot be delivered with text, no matter how clever, or with a still image, no matter how skillfully composed: the nod of the head, the folding of the arms, the look in the eye, in fact, every subtle movement of the presenter communicates something. These subliminal subtleties make it vital to have a professional presenter who understands how to act in front of a camera. Business executives familiar with face to face selling, or even speaking in front of a large audience may think performing for the camera is easy, but it is not.

Audiences are experts at decoding video presentations; we have all learned from years of watching television how to detect deception and fear in a performance. Acting for a camera requires what Marshal McLuhan called a 'cool' personality. Howard Dean's bid for the Democratic Party's Presidential nomination was disastrously stalled when a speech he gave in front of a large boisterous audience was captured by television cameras and broadcast on the small screen. When transferred to television, his attempt to speak above a thunderous crowd of supporters made him sound like a wild man, an unfortunate situation that would make one wonder about the integrity of network broadcasters who understand the medium and decided to misrepresent the circumstances for affect. In delivering a commercial message, it is imperative to have professionals who understand the psychology of small screen presentation.

Sound: Sonic Familiarity and Personality

If what people see on screen is important than what they hear is profound. The audio portion of a Web-presentation can be broken down into three separate elements: the on-screen actor's voice, the voice-over announcer's voice, and the music and sound effects.

The sound of the human voice provides focus, emphasis, familiarity and personality, all of which are necessary in the creation of a meaningful, memorable experience: the ultimate goal of any Web-commercial or presentation.

As much as the business focus of advertising is to motivate people to act immediately to buy, you are bound to have more people view your presentation than will respond to it. If your message is constructed only for immediacy, you are losing the vast majority of potential customers. The more memorable you make your presentation the more likely people will ultimately contact you when they are in need of your product or service.

It is the sound of the human voice with its quality of tone, cadence and delivery, combined with a finely crafted script that emphasizes rhythm, rhyme, and repetition that gets embedded in people's minds.

Score: Music, Emotion and Focus

One of the most important, but perpetually misused elements in Web-video is music. Often music is just slapped onto a finished video as an after-thought without any real meaningful purpose or design.

A musical score creates an appropriate emotional atmosphere providing audio cues that direct attention and re-enforce memory recall. When we watch a television show, movie or commercial we are rarely cognizant of the music, but the musical score has an enormous impact on the viewing experience: it not only creates the mood and sets the emotional context, it tells the audience what to pay attention to and how to react.

Viral Video Spend to Rise Despite Unclear Metrics

Advertiser and agency interest in viral video is growing quickly, and 70% of ad-agency and media-buying executives plan to increase budgets for viral video marketing in 2009, according to a study from Feed Company, writes MarketingCharts.

The “Viral Video Marketing Survey: The Agency Perspective” surveyed ad-agency executives and media buyers and found that 80% are “very familiar” with viral video. Some 72% say their clients are “interested” or “very interested” in using viral video as an integral part of their marketing campaigns - see chart.

The majority of ad execs (56%) also reported being “pleased” with the results of a viral video campaign, while less than 3% say they have been displeased.

Corporate Assignment: Coverage for Masimo’s unveiling!

I was hired by the Masimo Corporation (headquartered in California) to film the release of their state-of-the art noninvasive hemoglobin measurement. This was quite a big deal as their booth at the ASA 2008 Annual Meeting (Orange County Convention Center) was one of, if not, the largest on the tradeshow floor. And it had the most foot traffic! I am obviously not in the medical field, but I was quite impressed with Masimo’s efforts to improve patient care by making it easier for the professionals to do their job. The reaction to their product from visitors that came from all over the world was phenomenal!

I used my Canon XH A1 along with a wireless Shure handheld system, a Micropanels LED camera mounted light, and my trusty Manfrotto monopod. All worked impeccably! We went from capturing close-ups of the new products and the booth to quick interviews and crowd shots. We had to move fast as we were trying to capture spontaneous reactions and expressions. We also captured several presentations and interviews.

I hired freelance photographer Robert Cosme of RC Photography. He did a wonderful job moving around the crowd and capturing exactly what the client asked him to! Thanks Robert for a job well done!

This was another successful corporate assignment! I will post a few clips here and on our demo page soon!

Suhail and Safiya’s Ring Exchange Ceremony

This was a wonderful experience for us as Suhail and Safiya are two lovely people starting their journey together. The ceremony took place at the Orlando Marriott in Lake Mary, FL. Unfortunately, it rained most of the afternoon, however, it cleared up towards the evening and we were able to take advantage of the beautiful courtyard the Marriott has for some wonderful shots. Their friends and family were very generous and kind. They were very energetic and fun to work with. We especially loved the respect and honor shown to the elder ones in the ceremony. This day is not one we will forget any time soon!

The photographers were Jenny Rivera and Elena Arencibia from Kelmar Studios. They were very professional and were able to keep the bride and groom (who were very hungry :-) excited and happy. We always have a great time with them as we work well together and are able to work around each other to capture every moment. My first experience with Eo was when I received a special gift from my husband on our anniversary. I had a wonderful and relaxing massage, a superb facial, and excellent pedicure and manicure. I can't say enough about my experience at Eo!

...Just Completed Dissel Customs Shoot in Miami

We just completed the video shoot in Miami for Dissel Customs! We started Friday night in South Beach and finished on Saturday in and around Miami. "Jessica" is the name of our star, the beautiful chopper you see in the photo. She really turned heads! Everywhere we went, people had to stop and stare! Several people in South Beach even stopped to take photos by her!

We truly enjoyed this assignment. We were blessed with two sunny days. Which is a miracle, since it's been raining every afternoon for the past month! Dasiel, owner of Dissel Customs, was very gracious and did whatever we asked without any questions. He made our job a lot easier. We are very excited to finish this video! So look out for it in the next few weeks!

Beautiful Miami Wedding! (Heiry & Stephen)

Hello all! We just got back from Miami again! It seems we’ll be going to Miami a lot! We shot a last minute wedding on Sunday. We prefer to have time to prepare and plan for the day; however, we were very happy with the result.

The bride looked beautiful in her gown and the groom was very handsome in his tux. The elegant reception took place in Signature Gardens located in Miami. I loved shooting this wedding because everyone looked so happy to be there. The bride’s family was extremely generous and kind to us. They accommodated us in every way! The groom’s family appears to be very close. The groom was so sweet in including his grandmother in the proceedings. The groom is from Ohio and many of his friends and some family were unable to attend. He was especially glad to have us there since his other set of grandparents weren’t able to make it. We are going to make sure that they feel like they were there! The table settings were gorgeous and food was introduced with lights and music! We had fun shooting the reception as everyone danced and had a great time.

The photographers were husband and wife team Gregory Paul and Heidi based out of South Florida. As we followed them around most of the day, we were really impressed by how professional and organized they were. I am certain that the photos will be beautiful and go above and beyond what the bride and groom were expecting. We just completed the first of 3 web videos for Kelmar Studios. This photo shoot was filmed in Lakeland, FL with Jenny and Elena of Kelmar Studios, and Jeanell, their model. We had a blast shooting this with all the girls! Jenny did an excellent job of making Jeanelle feel comfortable and 'in the mood' to play to the camera. She truly is the master!

Hello folks! Well, we just completed a professional photo shoot with Kelmar Studios. We wanted a to take a few pro shots for the website and other marketing tools we'll be using. We wouldn't think of having anyone else take our photos.

I've never felt this way about someone else's talent. Jenny at Kelmar Studios is one of a kind and her photos prove it.

We felt a bit awkward as we started the photo shoot. But let me tell you folks, Jenny had us feeling like supermodels by the end of the shoot! I couldn't believe the way she made us feel so confident in front of the camera! We had so much fun that we wanted to keep going all day! :-)

She gave us a few of the photos to whet our appetite for what's to come! From what we've seen, we know we will love everything she did today. We can't wait to see all the photos!

Today it was confirmed with the owner of Dissel Customs! We will be doing their promo video in Miami, FL in the middle of July! I am very excited about this shoot, as I am a motorcycle enthusiasts! Although I don't currently own a bike, I've been riding for the past 7 years and love just being around them.
Dasiel Molina (owner) builds awesome choppers that will look awesome in our final video. In a few weeks, we'll be heading to Miami to film on location. Stay tuned!

Kelmar Studios Promo Video Shoot

Hello everyone! We spent most of the day this past Wednesday shooting the promotional video for Kelmar Studios.

We shot on location in Lakeland, FL. We started filming in their offices and later out in the field while Jenny (lead photographer) did a photo shoot of one of her senior models.

Jenny and Elana (manager) did a wonderful job in the interview even though it was a little strange for them at first. We made them feel comfortable and relaxed. They said they had a great time and felt like movie stars for a day! Although we had a lot of fun, it was all business in the end. We got a lot of great footage and we are certain that the end result will give Kelmar Studios a video web presence and assist them with marketing their services and products. Stay tuned for the final video!

As a side note, I want to take a moment to thank Jenny for all the inspiration she's given me, without her, there would be no One i Productions! Jenny is a wonderful artist and captures her subjects in a way that no one else can! I also want to thank Elena for all the business and marketing guidance she's given us. I love what I do, but I needed help in the marketing arena, and Elena is a master business person. So THANK YOU Jenny and Elena for all your help!
